Not a person to give bad review….BUT
I’m really not one to give bad reviews, rather take the attitude “have nothing to nice to say, say nothing”. However feel that Days Inn Taunton could benefit from some feedback. Just as I get on to here, does seem I’m one of many.
Firstly I booked through Booking.com, but that fee was considerably more than there advertised rate (shown on arrival), but hey I needed to ensure of a place to stay.
Secondly, we were travelling for our business and as a family business we had two rooms, plus our children. The rooms, some of parts clean, such as remote control and the TV had plenty of channels (why it has 2 stars), however it is down hill from here.
The rooms, outside the remote control were dirty, with sheets with marks all over. Shelves, covered in dust, real COVID-19 safe!! When I say dust, I’m talking thick finger marking stuff, my colleague putting his shirt on the shelf, when retrieving it was coated in dust.
So I’m going to stop about the quality of the room, it was cheap, so I can take some negative points.
Now the real issue is the staff, when they want to run around the halls at whatever time of night, we are all to tolerate, but a crying baby us apparently a noise complaint and there is a strict “two strike policy” as we were abruptly told by our on site manager. However, unfortunately we were booked for two nights and this occurred on the second night. The first night, we were welcomed by a small film crew filming an adult movie in one of the rooms, which went on to the early hours. Seems that the sound of a crying baby, is more off putting than a group of adults laughing and discussing “who’s next on that filthy bi**h”.
When I explained the situation to the on-site manager, he explanation was simply “I don’t control what other people do”.
We weren’t going to return for the second night but we were assured that this would not be repeated. Which I’m really pleased to say, is absolutely true, but my crying child is a problem!!!
Look, we have all travelled and a crying baby really isn’t very nice, but since our daughter had been crying for less then 3 minutes before we were told of the strict two strike rule feel rightly upset that a “P**n Shoot” can go on for hours, but a baby crying is to be stamped out with haste, maybe my little one was putting of tonight’s performers.
Safe to say, when we see Days Inn again, will quickly shuffled past. The state of these reviews, it will not be long before the company is finished off and the space will be taken by someone whom has the ability to run a business such as this. I quickly glanced through, the owning company isn’t doing well and is being left behind by its competitors, not really a big surprise.
I will answer some questions, no I only see the three male performers, seems the lady involved was a little more bashful than the chaps standing “tackle out” in the corridor while wearing a face mask!!!!
Yes, tried to go somewhere else, but nothing within a reasonable distance was available at such short notice.
No, we couldn’t head home (though tempted) but we were committed to staying in the area.
